Congratulations to Christin and Maneesh, who tied the knot last weekend! The long weekend started on Thursday evening, with the traditional Indian Sangeet, a celebration of the couple and blessings from the family and friends. There was amazing food, and dancing continued into the wee hours of the night. How they managed to get up and ready Friday morning, I have no idea!

Maybe it was by necessity, since they had to get up and dressed for the Hindi Ceremony early Friday morning.   The beautiful colors of the Hindi ceremony attire really kind of puts traditional Western ceremonies, with plain white dresses and simple jewelry, to shame. The bride was dressed in beautiful and intricate gold and red adornment, and all the jewelry and henna a bride could wear. The ceremony lasted a little over an hour, and is similar to traditional Western weddings, in their promises to each other, and their exchange of gifts.

Then, after some picture taking, the couple and the guests enjoyed yet another fantastic meal, while the bride rushed to get ready for the grand finale, the traditional Christian Ceremony that evening. Once again, the bride was stunning and the groom dashingly handsome, as they once again shared their love for each other and exchanged rings promising forever. Finish a perfect day off with a fantastic dinner again catered by Cuisiniers, wedding cake, and dancing. It was a weekend to remember.

So after a ridiculously busy week and a half, I’ve decided to play hooky from work and take my son to Animal Kingdom. Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!!

So little done, so much to do!! Must prep house, family, and business for my 2 day absence while I get to attend and photograph a Sangeet tonight, and both a Hindi and a Traditional Christian wedding tomorrow. Whew! Congratulations are in order for the soon-to-be couple, Christin and Maneesh! I can’t wait to see you both tonight and celebrate with you! And of course, Pete Nelson Productions will be there too, to video the entire event. Keep an eye on the blog over the next week for some teaser images and video from the events.

As a courtesy to my clients, I love to put together DVD videos of the highlights of their wedding day. It provides another amazing and emotional way to share their day with their friends and family, and more importantly, it enables my brides and grooms to enjoy their wedding images in another fashion. Another happy couple walked down the aisle last Saturday, at the beautiful Embassey Suites in Brandon, Florida. They had a small ceremony and reception, consisting almost entirely of their family and very closest friends. Join me in congratulating them and wishing them many, many years of happiness!! This amazing couple is going to tie the knot in February, and I was so excited to get them together in the historic Burns Court in downtown Sarasota. The Boudoir Event Saturday was another fantastic success! We had some beautiful women come in to get pampered for the afternoon. Special thanks again go to Keara Gilbert, who does the most amazing hair and makeup for our clients, and all the girls that made it out to get their images done. I’m packing my cameras up and heading back to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa today for more images of one of my recent brides and grooms. Since their reception at the zoo started late, it was dark and most of the animals were asleep or hiding in the dark. So, we thought what could be more fun than to get the bride back into her dress, the groom into his tux, and spend the afternoon getting even more images of the couple, this time with all the zoo animals! I’ll be like a kid in a candy store today… Special thanks to Lowry Park Zoo for letting us use their amazing facility again today. Keep an eye on the blog – lots of teasers coming up soon!

 

The studio is ready, I’ve got coffee in hand, and I’m tying up some loose ends before the big Boudoir Event today!! We have a bunch of girls coming in to get some fun and sexy shots just in time for the holidays.  If you didn’t get in on this one, and are interested, don’t worry, I’ll plan another one here in a month or so. And keep an eye on the blog, because the teasers will be up in another day or two.

Congratulations to my newest couple, who are some of the most awesome people I’ve met! After completing an engagement session with them a few months ago at the Lowry Park Zoo, I knew right away that it was going to be a fantastic wedding. And I was right!

The ceremony was held at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church in downtown Tampa. Fleurtations Floral did an amazing job with the bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and floral arrangements. I can attest to seeing many, many different bouquets over my years working in weddings, but this one may be my personal favorite of all – calla lilies and peacock feathers! And the programs matched, hand designed by the beautiful bride herself, with an animal theme and a peacock feather. The Harolds of Harmony Quartet was on hand with its amazing barbershop-esque serenading of the guests and their inclusion into the ceremony. What an great and unique addition for a wedding – I love being able to experience true talent like that.

When the wedding concluded, the bridal party and their guests headed to the amazing Lowry Park Zoo, for a truly unique and one-of-a-kind reception. Greeting the guests when they arrived was a llama, ready and willing to take pictures. After a quick ride to the reception location, Reilly’s Reserve, the guests were able to view and mingle with a porcupine, kinkajou, baby alligator, and a barn owl.  The reception hall was lit almost entirely with candle light, with exquisite and ornate centerpieces, stringed lighting above, and an outdoor veranda were guests could also mingle and play cornhole!  The entire event was orchestrated by the Jeff Staples Group DJ Services, and included another song or two from the amazing Harolds of Harmony Quartet.

As the bride said at the end of the night, “What other wedding has live animals, dancing, and cornhole?” None. And that about sums it up. Best party ever, Pietro and Tina!

I’m up and enjoying my coffee before another day of chasing a bride and groom around.   And I have been looking forward to this wedding for a long, long time! The bride and groom are both volunteers at the amazing Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, and decided to have their reception at the newly established Safari Lodge, complete with animal visitors throughout the evening. Keep an eye on the blog for the teaser images, which I intend to post early next week.
